Harvey Nash Director Carol Rosati awarded OBE in Queen’s Birthday Honours 2015

Championing gender balanced Boards and recruitment best practice

LONDON – 12 June 2015 – Carol Rosati, founder of Inspire, the global Board network for senior businesswomen, has been honoured in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list 2015. Appointed an OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) for services to Women in Business, Carol has been recognised for her role in founding one of the largest global networks for senior businesswomen and Board Directors in the world.

Carol has also championed the advancement of businesswomen in leadership positions through driving awareness of the need to boost the pipeline of female talent and taken a leading role in the development of new professional standards of best practice in the recruitment industry.

An executive search consultant for over 20 years, Carol joined Harvey Nash Executive Search in 2006 to focus on CFO and Board appointments. In a personal response to the challenges of recruiting in a male-dominated sector and with the support of Harvey Nash, she founded Inspire – a network to identify, connect and encourage the appointment of senior businesswomen across all sectors. Inspire now includes over 5000 Board level women across four continents and plays an active role in challenging businesses, recruiters and the public sector to improve workforce diversity. Inspire has been responsible for two world firsts; the Women’s Directorship Programme at Hong Kong University and Harvey Nash USA’s mentoring programme for women in technology, ARA.

Carol has advised many women achieving their first Board roles and has supported businesses of all sizes to attract and retain diverse talent. In 2014, she was on the advisory committee of Fiona Woolf’s Power of Diversity campaign during her year as Lord Mayor and worked with the Lord Davies Steering Group to develop an advanced code of conduct for the executive search industry. Through the work of Inspire, Harvey Nash became one of only eight executive search firms to be recognised with a kitemark of quality in recruitment by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) for its work in helping companies increase the number of women on boards beyond the FTSE350.

On receiving the honour, Carol Rosati, commented:
