Camurus is strengthening their organization with an Intellectual Property Manager. Camurus is in an exciting phase of growth and is building a European commercial organization. During second half of 2018 Camurus is planning to launch products for Opioid Dependence in EU. To support this growth and development there is a need to strengthen the organization with an Intellectual Property Manager with responsibility for maintaining and further developing the Intellectual Property portfolio.

Areas of responsibility
In this position you will report to the CEO and Head of Research & Development and be responsible for maintaining and further developing Camurus’ IP portfolio. You will work in a fast-paced and international environment, collaborating cross-functionally with internal stakeholders as well as with external partners.

As Intellectual Property Manager you will be contributing to the daily patenting work as well as the development of Camurus’ IP strategy, in close collaboration with Camurus’ R&D and commercial management as well as external IP counsels. Assignments include identification of new IP possibilities, development of new patent applications and IP strategies, prosecution and administration of existing patent applications, freedom to operate analyses and competition analysis. You are responsible for administration of the patent portfolio including ensuring timely responses to external IP counsel communications and Office actions as well as maintenance of granted IP (renewals etc.). As Intellectual Property Manager you will also be involved in Camurus’ business development activities, including contributing to drafting of agreements and participating in due diligence processes.

Furthermore, you are responsible for staying updated on development of IP regulations in major jurisdictions. As Intellectual Property Manager you will collaborate and communicate cross-functionally, engage in and comprehend all aspects of Camurus’ activities relating to both projects and technologies.

The role is located at Camurus Head Office at Ideon Science Park in Lund, Sweden.

Candidate profile
To be successful in this position, you have a MSc in Science and a solid track record of Intellectual Property work preferably within life sciences, including patent prosecution and drafting of patent applications. You have a proven track-record of working on both a strategic and operational level demonstrating strong communication and collaborative skills, developing effective relationships. You have a structured and organized approach to your work and are quality minded with focus on detail. You have a proactive way of working and thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and are a resourceful team player, with the ability to also work independently.

Requirements

  • MSc in Science or similar degree, preferably within chemistry, pharmacy or medicine
  • Solid track record of Intellectual Property work within life sciences either from a life science company or from a patent bureau
  • Experience from working on both a strategic and operational level
  • Fluent in English

Meriting

  • Experience with pharmaceutical formulation patents.
  • Experience from litigation is an advantage
