Pierce presently grows with a yearly pace of some 40% and expect further high growth for the years to come. Last 12 months revenues exceeded 1,000 MSEK. To support further growth a new CPO, leading the category management department, will start in August. The department is responsible for procurement and the continuous development of the assortment including private brands. It works closely with the Sales and Marketing- and Pricing units to optimize the customer offering both in the short and long term.  To further strengthen the department, and build solid processes for operational and financial tracking, Pierce now search for a Senior Business Controller. Possibly this role will include limited managerial responsibilities.  

The role will support with reports, analysis and financial planning to improve the function to reach the targets and improve KPIs. You will be an active member of the operational management team, within the Category Management department, and initiate improvements/findings and secure follow up on decided actions. In the role you have to ensure relations with other departments (ex. Sales and Marketing, Pricing) to secure information transformation and full understanding of business and decisions. As a controller you need to understand the details as well as having a holistic view. The overall objective for the role is to actively support the company to improve sales, profitability and inventory turnover.

Main responsibilities

  • Create and implement routines, processes and reports to ensure adequate operational and financial tracking for the department, including planning processes.
  • Financial- and KPI reporting.
  • Sales- and Margin analyses.
  • Inventory analysis.
  • Performance data and KPIs including follow up on actions.
  • Drive system improvements related to Category Management together with business intelligence specialists.
  • Support category managers in larger supplier negotiations with simulations etc.


  • Master/Msc. or MA (Civilekonom)
  • At least +8 years’ experience in merchandising controlling and/or analytics within assortment and purchasing
  • Excellent Excel competence, knowledge in BI merit
  • Fluent in English
